Rolando and his crew in Guatemala make the most gorgeous leather bags. His focus is on small-batch orders and uses only the best leather and huipils for each piece. The front woven panel is part of a huipil from Chichicastenango, Guatemala. The village is known for its striking huipils with geometric designs and bold flowers. The bag's backside design is the same as the front, they mirror each other. It's really a one of a kind!

*A huipil (pronounced wee-peel) is the embroidered blouse worn by indigenous women in Guatemala. Women in Guatemala pair their huipil with a traditional long fabric skirt (corte). Huipils are usually made with woven fabric on a backstrap loom and are heavily decorated with meaningful designs woven into the fabric. The decorative designs chosen can signify history, cultural identity, something personal about the wearer, and more. Since most indigenous come from agricultural societies, the designs generally relate to the natural world.
